Hello,
We have been in AZ almost two years. We enjoy our new home and feel acclimated to our new environment. But, we do miss visiting with friends and family regularly. So, I've taken a gander at blogging in hopes of sharing our family's experiences and stay better connected with you!! Enjoy.
CAMPING AT ROOSEVELT LAKE

During our vacation, we went camping with some friends at Roosevelt Lake, a couple hours north of us. We had an eventful stay. The kids jumped in the lake and went swimming for about an hour!! (kids don't seem to mind the cold water, I did not even put a toe in.) Our friends brought their quads and we were able to have a little riding fun.

we went on am amazing hike to check ancient "cliff dwellings." Ancient Indian tribes built incrdeible homes alongside the mountain. we all had fun venturing in these dwellings and seeking out the different living spaces.

BENEFITS OF LIVING IN THE DESERT

Well it is now March and already warm enough to play with the "slip n slide".
The kids had a wonderful time on this Saturday afternoon soaking in the sun and taking rides in the water, we even had some of the neighborhood kids join in the fun.
This is our mild time of the year, so we spend lots of time outside relishing in the great weather!

SPRING BREAK GETAWAY

We thought we would get adventurous during our spring break. We took a trip to the Amazon, well (the rain forest cafe.) We experienced all the sights and sounds of the jungle and luckily the kids nearly missed being "crocodile dinner". Monte took a chance and sampled some squid and octopus, but Emilie just wanted to save her helping for home to keep as a pet.

We have had an eventful March; most of the Nielson clan ventured to Az to enjoy a little Dodger spring training. We all had a blast. It was so great seeing family, thanks to all who made the trip
